NMFC Product vs Density Based Pricing

In the current NMFC model, this shipment comes in at a freight classification of 50. Using dimensions of just the brown box (12”x12”x26”), it would be class 70. Since it is strapped on a much larger pallet (40"x48"x4") the freight class jumps up to 400! If the product cannot be shipped as a parcel for need to keep it vertical, use a pallet of 18”x18” at a lower cost for the customized pallet rather than much higher shipping charge to the carrier for using a much larger pallet.
